Fonts.gr (Greek Digital Type Library) was founded in 1995 with the aim to enrich and renew the Greek typography. With the permanent members (Panayiotis Haratzopoulos, Yannis Karlopoulos) and their regular collaborators (Y. Kouroudis, T. Katsoulidis, D. Arvanitis, H. Charalambous, A. Bakas) have cooperated at times and many other graphic designers, equally skilled in typography and with a significant contribution to graphic design and visual arts.

We are proud to have been one of the first digital type design companies in the UK providing digital fonts to users since 1989. Demand focused by the need for fonts on the new digital machinery that had been created by the big typesetting companies to be driven by Apple Macintosh computers, firstly using Type3 font technology then shortly after by Type1 font technology. So much now has changed since those early days. No need to send floppy discs to customers by motorcycle courier, no need to print and post thousands of specimen books and leaflets to show the ever changing library of type designs. The focus is now moving slowly but inevitably to screen based devices along with the changing type technology and designs that are required to define and support typography on the new generation of internet connected technology.

I’m a PhD student at Monash University's Caulfield School of Information Technology. I’m a visual designer and my research concerns enhancing visualisation and interface design by engaging people’s memory. To do this, I'm working within the cross section of traditional visual design practice and human-computer interaction design. I also have a research placement at Arup where I’m exploring how to present data to get people to better utilise physical space and engage with activities. I also teach at Monash University's Faculty of Art Design & Architecture.
