P22 Type Foundry is dedicated to producing quality fonts and related products. Our goal is to present historical materials in a contemporary, relevant form. By doing so, we make great art and design accessible to every level of computer user. Our research and design teams are committed to developing typefaces which are not available anywhere else. P22 works closely with museums and foundations toward the development of historically and aesthetically accurate products. Each font set is uniquely packaged with background information on its source and inspiration. We hope you enjoy our fonts and we welcome your input.

Hello. We resurrect old typefaces. Most of what you see here was sampled from old books and ephemera, though some designs are original. Fonts from specific periods are grouped in sets with borders, ornaments, symbols, and sometimes clip-art. It’s everything you need to create fantastic period pieces. Go have a look around. We’re here if you have any questions.

Underware are German Akiem Helmling, Dutchman Bas Jacobs, and Finn Sami Kortemaki. They respectively reside in the cities of Den Haag, Amsterdam, and Helsinki. Their work is among the most popular of up-and-coming independent type foundries — happy-go-lucky, high-quality, text-friendly typefaces for both display use and comprehensive typesetting. Underware’s typefaces stand out thanks to unique aesthetics, finished quality, and a considered collective presence.
